CPF for Nigerian passport holders in Brazil
How Nigerian passport holders can get a CPF in Brazil. Visa requirements, documents, and Nigeria-specific tips.
Nigerians in Brazil
There is a growing Nigerian community in Brazil, particularly in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Whether you are coming for business, education, or relocation, a CPF is essential for daily life in Brazil.
Nigerian nationals need a visa to enter Brazil. Make sure your visa and entry stamp are clearly visible in your passport before applying for a CPF.
Nigeria-specific considerations
Visa requirement. Unlike some nationalities, Nigerians need a visa to enter Brazil. Your CPF application requires a valid visa and entry stamp. Tourist visas, work visas, and student visas all qualify.
Name formatting. Nigerian passports sometimes list names in a different order than what the CPF form expects. Enter your names exactly as printed on your passport, in the same order.
Mother's full name. Enter your mother's full legal name. If your mother uses her maiden name on official documents, use that. If she uses her married name, use that. The key is consistency with official records.
After your CPF
Banking is the first priority. Nubank and Inter are both foreigner-friendly. For sending money between Nigeria and Brazil, Wise and Remitly are the most reliable options.
Your CPF also enables you to register for courses at Brazilian universities, sign employment contracts, and access government services through Gov.br.
